Benny Gantz: Israel can attack Iran on its own anytime

“Israel’s army is capable of attacking Iran on its own without foreign support” says Israeli Chief of Staff Benny Gantz.

Asked if Israel’s military could wage attacks “alone” against the Islamic republic, Gantz replied: “Yes, absolutely. We have our plans and forecasts… if the time comes we’ll decide on whether to take military action against Tehran.”

In a separate interview, Gantz said the possibility of an Israeli strike on Iran was not imminent, and that sanctions imposed by the international community should be given priority to stop Tehran’s nuclear drive.

In a third interview, with Israeli military radio, Gantz also warned of the security threat posed by neighbouring Syria’s civil war: “The rebels are for now engaged in combat against the army of President Bashar al-Assad, but it’s clear there will be a second war, possibly between current opponents of Assad, or possibly directed at us.”

Kim Jong-un, the supreme leader of North Korea

Do not worry,

There will be no attack on us, no attack on China, no attack on Japan, no attack on Russia and no attack on South. Little Kim was only looking to promote his belly and baby face, to look more serious.

This guy is an international joke but in his own country he is now God, the ruler of the world.

Korea, April 16, 2013

The calm over the past two days in Pyongyang has been a striking contrast to the steady flow of retaliatory threats North Korea has issued over ongoing military exercises between South Korea and the United States. No attack, nuclear missiles lunched, only new threats were issued

As a matter of facts, instead of going to war against the world, on Tuesday, North Korea threatened the South Korea with imminent “sledge-hammer” retaliation unless Seoul apologized for anti-Pyongyang protesters burning effigies of its revered leaders.

As North Korea celebrated the birth of their late founding leader Kim Il-Sung, protesters in Seoul burned portraits of Kim, his son Kim Jong-Il and grandson and current leader Kim Jong-Un.

Condemning that “thrice-cursed… monstrous criminal act”, North Korea issued an ultimatum threatening just and immediate action if an apology was not forthcoming:
”Our retaliatory action will start without any notice. The military demonstration… will be powerful sledgehammer blows at all hostile forces hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership” North Korea said.

As a great apology, South Korea called the North Korean ultimatum regrettable and pledged a tough response to any military provocation from the North.

Wow, what an apology!

This leads me to believe that Park Geun-hye has more balls than Little Kim.

Burn Your Business Plan

No Business Plan Survives First Contact With Customers

Start With a Business Model, Not a Business Plan and avoid three common pitfalls:

1 – Falling in love with your first idea, without exploring alternatives

The same products, services or technologies can fail or succeed depending on the business model you choose. Exploring the possibilities is critical to finding a successful business model. Settling on first ideas risks the possibility of missing potential that can only be discovered by prototyping and testing different alternatives.

2 – Not listening to customers hard enough

Constantly talking to real potential customers from the very inception of your ideas all the way to their execution is a prerequisite for any serious founder. Great entrepreneurs are often great listeners and they can spot patterns and pick up on small details in customer stories.

3 – Not testing hard enough

Once you have an idea of those customer jobs, pains, and gains you do not want to rest until you have tested if what you have learned from talking to customers is actually real. Actions speak louder than words. There is a big difference between what people say and what they do. People might tell you they are excited about your new product, but when they are in a buying situation their behavior might be totally different. Get potential customers to perform real actions.

Do it the right way!

Distill Your Message to as Few Words as Possible.

Simplicity has never been more powerful.

People are constantly being bombarded with new information. The noise is so deafening sometimes that your most important message can easily get lost in the shuffle.  Everybody’s talking at once, saying so much, that people can no longer remember what we started talking about in the first place. Tweets are flying through the atmosphere as thick as a flock of birds, filling minds with an endless stream of useless information, and crowding out the few things that were really worth knowing.

The world is noisier now than it’s ever been, the competition is tougher and more global, and your customer is being bombarded around the clock with a massive stream of messaging that makes it ever more difficult to remember you and your company.

Focus on simplicity

To be truly memorable, to be the one product or service that people remember when the dust settles, you need to narrow down your message, streamline your sentences, cut out all the fluff, and deliver one, just one strong, simple message, and deliver it clearly and concisely. One of the most valuable skills in the world is the ability to explain complex concepts in simple, easy-to-understand terms.

Writing lots of words is easy; making your point with an absolute minimum number of words is really hard.  Yet it is so much more effective.  Mark Twain once said: “I would have written that shorter, but I didn’t have the time.”  Find the time.

Imagine you had a quick minute to tell a potential customer why he should do business with you.  Because in today’s world, that’s all you have anyway.

Write down what you want to say.  Now cross out as many words as you can, each time reading the sentence again to see if it still delivers the point you want to make.  Keep crossing out words until you have created the shortest sentence you possibly can.

Next, go to one person and deliver your simplified pitch.

As soon as you are done, have that person tell a person who wasn’t in the room what you just said.

The goal is this:

if a person who hears your simple message can repeat it pretty accurately to the next person who asks what your company does, you’ve got it right.  If they don’t say exactly the words you want repeated–to build your brand and establish your company’s unique value go back to the drawing board and simplify it some more.  Keep it brief, straightforward, and clear.  Eliminate any industry-specific jargon.  Avoid the noise and clutter. There is elegance in simplicity.

Simplicity does not mean removing features, benefits, or services from your product.  It means distilling what’s most important about those features, and explaining them in the fewest words possible.

Iran-Israel

There will be no warning

In the fall of 2012, worried about the progress of Iranian nuclear program, the United States and Israel made a common attempt to strengthen their economic and military pressure on Iran. While the United States was increasing its naval presence in the Persian Gulf, Israel was defying the Iranian authorities.

Today, nothing has change and we are still in the dark about a still possible Israeli-Iranian conflict. All what we know is that over the years, Iran made significant progress in developing its own uranium enrichment technology. At the underground Fordo plant, over a thousand centrifuges have been installed, most of them operating at full capacity in September 2012. In August of 2010, the Bushehr nuclear plant was completed and operational. Since then, we assisted to this constant and persistent mutual exchange of threats between Tel Aviv and Tehran.

Over time, many analysts were inclined to think of a possible Israeli strike on the Iranian nuclear facilities. It did not happen. If this had happen, the response from Iran would have been devastating.

In May 2011, the former head of Mossad, Meir Dagan warned the Israeli government about a possible doomsday scenario. Dagan did not believe in a possibility of destroying the Iranian nuclear program with a single strike. At the same time, the United States and the allied Western countries had nearly exhausted their entire arsenal of economic sanctions against Iran. Such arsenal of sanctions was renewed in 2012 and the pressure on Damascus maintained.

Since then, we did not hear much from either the Iranian or the Israeli side and the question about the possible nuclear weapons allegedly being secretly developed by Iran is still unclear. Whatever the answer to this question is, I can tell you something: Iran and Israel are no North Korea; Iran and Israel are no Syria! If either one or the other has belligerent thoughts towards one another, we will be the last ones to know.

There will be no warning; there will be no barking; there will be no talk!

Syria and North Korea dominating G8 meeting

G8 UK 2013

Kerry did not make any promises

As the G8 foreign ministers are holding a second day of talks in London focusing on Syria and North Korea, the US Secretary of State John Kerry, as predicted and expected, especially since some of the Syrian opposition leaders recently pledged their allegiance to Al-Qaeda, did not make any promises as the same Syrian opposition leaders renewed their appeals for lethal aid.

Western and Middle Eastern nations supporting the opposition will meet in Turkey on April 20, where US Secretary of State John Kerry will attend the meeting of the so-called Friends of Syria “core group” in Istanbul. My personal belief, considering that the G8 consist of the US, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Canada and Russia, is that the Syrians are going to have to fight their own war.

North Korean threats of war are also high on the agenda of the G8 talks.

How far is Kim Jong-un ready to go?

Kim-Jong-Un

How crazy are you….

North Korea’s next act of defiance against  the United states could be a critical one.

If little Kim sticks to the North Korean playbook, Pyongyang will test-fire one or two missiles in the next few weeks to come. These missiles with hit the open water and then, little Kim will claim victory, sit back and enjoy. Anything else could backfire on him and it would be only the beginning of a grand finale with fireworks, all in his backyard.

Certainly not a celebration he would enjoy.
