Collective Intelligence, Innovation, Intelligentsia

Isaac Newton

“If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.” – Isaac Newton

There is something called “Collective Intelligence”

Humans have been around for approximately 200,000 years, but up until about 70,000 years ago, we weren’t too different from any of the other animals in our impact on the environment.

Then, in a relatively short period, we became the dominant predator on Earth. A few 10,000 years later, we began settling into agricultural communities, and less than 9,000 years after that, we learned to write. Since then, our rate of progress has only gotten faster.

The modern world we enjoy today is inconceivably different from the world we’ve lived in for the majority of our existence.

What changed?

The answer lies in our ability to pass down knowledge.

Nothing Is Entirely Original

When most of us think about a discovery or an invention, we think of something new; something that did not exist before; something that seemingly came up to us out of thin air.

That is not an entirely accurate way of looking at it.

No discovery or invention is completely original: Any new idea, process, or method is in some way a combination of old concepts and information. Discoveries are never a product of pure single-handed originality.

There is no copyright on intelligence

Our humanoid prosperity as a species rests on our collective intelligence. Alone, and without the power of past knowledge, we would not be where we are today. Individually, we have to rely on others more than to depend on ourselves.

None of us can do it alone, and we do not have to. The intelligent creative process is nothing else than a way of finding relationships between people, between intelligentsia and what is already known.

Yes indeed, there is something called “Collective Intelligence” and by definition, everything that is “collective” does not carry individual ownership.

There is inspiration to be found everywhere.

Is your life off-course? Here is how to fix it!

Achievement, Procrastination, Productivity, re, Self-Improvement, Success

Small things, if not corrected, always become big things. For better or worse, even seemingly inconsequential aspects of our lives can create ripples and waves of consequence.

Is your life off-course?

What feedback are you receiving to correct your course?

How often do you check your guidance system?

Do you even have a guidance system?

Where is your destination?

When are you going to get there?

Are you currently off-course?

If your answer to the last question is “YES”, here is what you have to do to get back on-course, to minimize the actual turbulences and other conditions distracting you from your intended path and final destination

  1. Organize Your Life

Life is busy. It is difficult to keep everything organized and tidy. And maybe you do not want to have an organized life. But moving forward, like it or not, requires a minimum of discipline and organization. Everything in life is energy and moving forward requires far less energy if you remove all unnecessary aggravation and tension from your life.

In life, there are some important, and urgent things and most people will spend their entire life prioritizing insubstantial activities such as answering emails, putting out proverbial fires, and just day-to-day stuff. Very few people organize their lives prioritizing almost exclusively truly important urgent activities and issues relevant to their health [either mental or physical], and personal lifetime rewarding achievement.

No one should care about your success more than yourself. If you are not a meticulous enough or do not care about proper planning of the important details of your life, then you are not responsible enough to get or to become what you say you want to get or become.

You want to reach your final destination? You want to be a winner instead of a loser? You have to manage your time and organize your life!

Manage your environment

Does your environment facilitate the emotions you consistently want to experience? Does your environment drain or improve your energy? If so, clean up your cluttered and messy living space.

Manage your finances

Do you have unnecessary debt? Do you know how much money you spend each month? Do you know how much money you make each month? Are you making as much money as you would like to make? Are you creating more value in other people’s lives? What is holding you back?

Most people do not track their expenses. But if they did, they would be shocked how much money they waste on stuff like eating out. Most people procrastinate and avoid as much as possible all administrative and logistical details about their life and, this lackluster behavior is holding them back from the very goals they are trying to accomplish.

You want to achieve your goals, whatever they may be, you have to hone in your finances; regardless of your actual income, you have to organize your life in such a way to maintain and develop and maintain a healthier financial living situation. Until you take complete responsibility of your finances, you will always be a slave to money.

Manage your relationships

Do you maintain toxic relationships that no longer serve you? Do you spend enough time nurturing the relationships that really matter? Like money, most people’s relationships are not organized in a conscious and conscientious manner. Today, with something so critical, all of us, including you, should take better stock of our relationships.

Manage your health

Does your body reflect your highest ideals? Is your body as strong and fit as you want it to be? Are you conscious of and in control of the foods you put in your body? Do you eat with the end in mind? Are you healthier now than you were three months ago?

Health is wealth. If you are sick, bed ridden or dying, who cares about how organized are the other areas of your life? Have a healthy lifestyle. Exercise, avoid foregoing sleep, over consuming stimulants and maintaining or developing poor eating habits.

Little things become big things. And eventually everything catches up.

Manage your “Inner Energy”

Do you have a sense of purpose in life? Have you come to terms with life and death in a way you resonate with? Have you truly living or simply existing? How much power do you have in designing your future?

When you organize your “Inner Energy”, you become clear on what your life is about. You become clear on what you stand for, and how you want to spend each day. You develop conviction for what really matters in live and what really matters to you: There is no more room for any kind of “distraction.”

No matter how well defined, everyone has a moral system governing their behavior. Most people believe in being honest and good people. But until you organize your life and live as your “Inner Energy “dictates you to conduct and live your life, you will always, inevitably and constantly experience internal conflicts.

Manage your time

Are the activities you spend your time doing moving you toward your ideal and preferred future? How much of your time do you feel in complete control of? Are you spending most of your time furthering someone else’s agenda? How much time do you waste each day?

Until you organize your time, it will disappear and move quickly. Before you know it, you will wonder where all the time went. Once you organize your time, it will slow down. You will be able to live more presently. You will be able to experience time as you want to. You will control you are time rather than the other way around.

Stop What You are Doing and Get Organized

If what you are doing is not working, stop doing it and, once and for all, get organized. The fastest way to move forward in life is not doing more or what you do; it starts with stopping the behaviors holding you back.

Getting organized and conscious of your present circumstances puts you in a position to finally build toward the preferred future you want. Stop your negative behaviors now and start implementing good ones. Constantly repeating what is not working for you will only always and invariably result in taking one step forward and one step backward.

If you want to get in shape or better health, the first thing to do before you start exercising, before doing anything else, is to purge the junk food from your diet.

Before focusing on making more money, reduce your spending. Detach yourself from needing more and become content with what you have. Until you do this, it does not matter how much money you make. You will always spend more than what you have.

Everything is a simple matter of stewardship

Rather than wanting more, it is key to take proper care of what you currently have. Organize yourself. Dial it in. Your life is like a garden. What good is planting if you do not have a fertile soil, if you do not prepare the soil and remove the weeds?

Why do most people stay stuck? Why do most people never achieve their goals? Why do most people never achieve success? They never organize. They simply try doing more of what they are doing and is not working.

My best possible advice: Before you “hustle,” get organized.

  1. Plan and Invest in “Your” Future

Even though the moment you decide you are worthy of it, you have complete power over the details of your life, very few people take the necessary time to consciously plan and design their life.

Are you worthy of that power or not?

You have to ask yourself this question and answer it right now, right this minute.

If your answer is “No”, do not bother to read this article any further; just stop complaining and enjoy your miserable life.

If your answer is “Yes”, I have to tell you that you are in for some real hard times. Your decision to plan and invest in “Your” future will result in tangible behaviors and difficult choices to make, decisions like fixing or eliminating troubled relationships from your life and saying “No” to some of your preferred activities that are nothing more than a waste of your time and immediate momentary gratification.

When you choose to forego momentary, you are investing in your future and most people fail to do this successfully. Most people do not purposefully invest in their finances, relationships, health, and time. But when you invest in yourself rather than immediate gratifications, your present moments will continue to get richer and more enjoyable, tremendously enhancing your chances to a guaranteed better future.

Thus, your life will continue getting better and more in line with your ideal vision every day.

  1. Tracking Important Metrics

Getting organized and investing in your future are futile if you are not tracking your progress. To be and to keep being the best in the world at what you do, you need to be on top of What is going on in your life. when behavior is tracked, and evaluated, your performance and productivity improve drastically. One impediment though, tracking is challenging. Tracking and monitoring your performance and progress requires discipline and most people quit doing it within a few days. The good part is that once you start monitoring and tracking, desired change happens quickly.

Track the things that are closely related to your core priorities and just remember this fundamental rule: If you have more than three priorities you have none. Keep your priorities to a minimum and start building your life around them, tracking and monitoring all your progress and actions toward your ultimate goal, your preferred future.

You can track whatever priorities you may have, either your key relationships, your business and finances, your health or how you use your time and once you do, your conscious awareness of these things will increase. Your ability to control these things will enhance. Your confidence will wax strong. And your life will become a lot more easier and simpler. You will be living a simple, yet organized and refined life.

Start monitoring and tracking your priorities now!

  1. Listening to your “Inner Voice” to Reduce Noise

There’s a lot of emphasis on hustle these days. But all the hustle in the wrong direction isn’t going to help you.

People may spend their whole lives climbing the ladder of success only to find, once they reach the top, that the ladder is leaning against the wrong wall. This happens way too often; far too late do we realize that in our mad rush, we were pursuing someone else’s goals instead of our own.

Spending time listening to your “Inner Voice” for advice and clarification does more than provide clarity to what you are doing. This opens your mind up to possibilities you cannot see, perceive or get while keeping busy hustling.

Spending time looking for and listening to your “Inner Voice” brings you insights and enlightenment to guide you in whatever may be your endeavor. It will bring you clarity, ideas and concepts that may prove to be absolute gold and new insights regarding your actual personal or business relationships.

But there is more

Your ‘Inner Thoughts”, your “Inner Voice” is a source of incredible power. This is the “power Within”, the “Power Within You”. That “Power” actually governs not only your actions but the interactions that you have with people around you and their actions and reactions toward you. The way you interact with people around you impact their lives either in a positive or negative way.

If you think positively about the people you interact with, this actually makes a difference. In both, your life and their life. Your thoughts create endless waves and ripples of consequence all around you. If you maintain a positive attitude, interesting things will begin happening.

Your life will improve and everything that you will touch will turn to gold. If you are uncomfortable with the idea of miracles, you can think of it as “Bona Fortuna” or even luck. Whatever you want call it, when you spend large portions of time every day in deep reflection mode, good things start happening. Things happen for your benefit that are completely outside of your conscious mind or conscious control.

Tap into your “Inner Power” and you will unlock limitless possibilities. The only thing holding you back from those things is your mind.

  1. Moving Toward Your Goals Every Single Day

How many days go by where you did nothing to move toward your big goals?

If you do not purposefully carve time out every day to progress and improve, then without question, your time will get lost in the vacuum of our increasingly crowded lives. Before you know it, you will be wondering where all that time went.

Now that you got yourself organized, finalize your initial planning, that you are tracking your progress and listening to your Inner Voice, taking action and hustling shall have become instinctive and automatic. Focusing on the right thing and in the right frame of mind to actually execute them every single day shall be your daily modus operandi.

Keep doing it every day, first thing at the beginning of your day. This is the only way to get and to keep things done. If you do not, nothing will get done even though that by the end of your day, you will feel exhausted and fried. There will be a million reasons to just start over tomorrow and tomorrow will be the same: by the end of the day, nothing will get done.

Starting today your mantra shall be: The worst comes first. Do that thing, those things you have been needing to do and never did. Then do it again tomorrow and the day after. Do it every day for the rest of your life.

It is really easy to get off course in life and we constantly need to make course corrections. Follow my lead long enough and you will be shocked.

Just remember: “Tomorrow Starts Today!”

The 9 Fundamental Rules of Peak Performance

Health, Productivity, Self-Improvement

“It is not the size of a man but the size of his heart that matters.”

—Evander Holyfield

What makes great? What are the principles that underlie mastery across fields and capabilities?

The principles below are universal and supported by both science and the experience of individuals who are on top of their respective fields.

1) Sleep!

Sleep is one of the most productive things you can do. Always make sure to have enough sleep time. Sleep deprivation is short-changing your physical, psychological, and emotional performance.

2) Physical activity

Physical activity is essential and integral to priming the mind for creative thinking and problem solving. Keep exercising on a daily basis. Have a walk, play golf, do something you like.

3) Seek out “Just-Manageable” challenges

The only way to grow is to step outside of your comfort zone. While your activities shouldn’t stress you, or make you anxious, they should leave you with a feeling of slight uncertainty. You grow from partaking in “just-manageable” challenges. Elevate your game.

4) Stress + Rest = Growth

The universal growth equation requires not only that you challenge yourself, but also that you take time to recover. Follow especially challenging activities with periods of recovery and recuperation. Physical Activity will help.

5) Cultivate purpose: Find a meaningful “why” for your work. Focus on something beyond yourself. Thinking less about yourself and more about others is one of the best ways to elevate your game.

6) Carefully design your day

Be as intentional as you can about when you do what you do. Don’t waste your peak hours on more or less useful activities such as browsing social media or answering email.

7) Surround yourself with only “Good People”

Avoid toxic people. Actively seek out successful high performers and do everything you can to work with them. The people with whom you spend your time have an enormous influence on your life. They most definitely shape your life.

8) Own your story and learn to say it well

Be constructive in the stories you tell yourself and others about yourself. We truly become our stories.

9) “Respond” rather than “React”

Resist the urge to instantly react to everything thrown at you. Instead, take a deep-breath, evaluate the situation, and only then, thoughtfully and strategically respond. When the going gets tough, rather than panic, have a calm conversation: pause to separate yourself from whatever emotion you are feeling and only then move forward.

Just try this and tell me about it.

Empower Yourself | Love what you do!

Empowerment, Wants and Needs

“Life doesn’t have to be a perpetual fight. Empower yourself and do it now!”

JMD

I don’t really care about what you want or need.

I don’t really care if you want to hustle 18 hours a day or buy a NBA franchise. I really don’t. No matter what you want or need, all what I care about is for you to win and achieve the life of your dreams.

You need to care about what you want and need

All underachievers that I know, without any exception, are crippled by fear. They constantly worry about what other people think of them. They are not defining their wants and needs because they are not in control of their life. They let the world, their mom, their dad, their spouse, the public opinion, the media and society in general define who they are. Their life is in constant turmoil.

You have to let go and just do what you want to do

Empower yourself. Have a good look at yourself, stop blaming the world for everything that is happening to you. Stop the excuses. Have a good look at yourself and above everything else, stay away from toxic people. Stop letting others define who you are. This is your life and it is up to you and only you to decide and define who you want to be.

You are not happy with your life!

You are not happy with yourself! Take charge of your life. Reinvent yourself. Reengineer yourself. Be your own boss. Do not let anyone or anything dictate who you are and how you should conduct your life anymore.

Empower yourself

Everything you want, everything you need in life is within you. Stop looking anywhere else for answers. Self-awareness is the key to living the life of your dreams, the key to your best possible preferred future.

Nobody on this earth preaches and loves entrepreneurship more than me. We are now living in the golden era of entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is having its’ moment big time. You are unhappy with your life, my advice to you is: empower yourself. Figure yourself out and just do you.

“Not everyone is born to be an entrepreneur” would you tell me! In fact, you are right and not everyone should! Have a good look at yourself, figure yourself out and if entrepreneurship is in your DNA, don’t look back and go for it! Find out what is your north star, what your life and financial ambitions are, what are your challenges and the main obstacles you have to overcome to be the person you are, the person you want to be. Stop listening to everyone other than yourself and just do what you have to do.

Go all in!

Define who you are, define your goal and stick to it. Do not let anyone or anything distract you from your final destination. Be the captain of your own ship, the captain of your own life. Stop reading and start writing your own book, the book of your life. The people that win are in tune with themselves. They’ve figured themselves out.

Have you?

How to Feed Ten Billion People in 2050

Malnourishment, Vegan diet, vegetarian, Vertical farming, Vertical farms

by: Joshua Hehe

sustainability

Right now there are about seven billion people on Earth and a large portion of them are malnourished. Furthermore, as the population increases, so too does the global need for food. Unfortunately, in the current production model, corporations tend to feed most of the food in the world to other food for a relatively small number of people to then consume. That is to say, companies grow plants for animals to eat, and then only the most affluent individuals get to dine on them.

Rather than doing this, we could feed far more people if everyone would just become vegetarians instead. The problem is that the operating procedures that are in place perpetuate a carnivorous consumer culture. This is a huge problem. There is so much water being wasted in the current agricultural methods. The logistics involved in the transport of these goods also requires a great deal of oil to be used. In addition to this, the models in place are terribly inefficient and unsustainable uses of land. This system only serves to line the pockets and bellies of the wealthy elite, with little to no regard for anything or anyone else.

To transition the world to a humane vegan diet, we need to invest far more into local vertical farms all across the world. In this way, biotech plant-based foods will provide meat alternatives with far more nutrition. These laboratory grade edibles are revolutionary. Scientists have even found clever ways to make it all delicious too. By oxygenating the roots of vegetables grown hydroponically, it’s possible to make healthy food that actually tastes great.

It’s so inhumane for people to go hungry in this world, and vertical farms are really the only thing that can save people from continued starvation. This is why it is so vital for everyone to become a vegan as soon as possible. The only way that everyone can eat is if we all give up meat. In this way we will end the suffering of countless animals, including starving children.

To eliminate animal consumption altogether humanity must eventually embrace vertical farming. This is an inevitable step that our species must take that I am fully in favor of for so many reasons. For one thing, such a marvel of engineering completely eliminates the need for harmful fertilizers and pesticides. Plus, the specific spectrum lighting used to make all of this happen allows food to be harvested year round. The climate controlled buildings also take up very little space on the ground, making them easy to incorporate into cities of all sizes. This forward thinking concept is definitely the way of the future.

Is There Life Beyond Earth?

Scientists discover 7 ‘Earthlike’ planets orbiting a nearby star

By Sarah Kaplan  | The Washington Post | February 22, 2017

life-beyond-earth

Astronomers found a new solar system just 39 light years from ours, full of Earthlike planets. Here’s what you should know about the TRAPPIST-1 system. (Jenny Starrs, Sarah Kaplan/The Washington Post)

A newfound solar system just 39 light-years away contains seven warm, rocky planets, scientists say.

The discovery represents the first time astronomers have detected so many terrestrial planets orbiting a single star. Researchers say the system is an ideal laboratory for studying distant worlds and could be the best place in the galaxy to search for life beyond Earth.

“Before this, if you wanted to study terrestrial planets, we had only four of them and they were all in our solar system,” said lead author Michaël Gillon, an exoplanet researcher at the University of Liege in Belgium. “Now we have seven Earth-sized planets to expand our understanding. Yes, we have the possibility to find water and life. But even if we don’t, whatever we find will be super-interesting.”

The newly discovered solar system resembles a scaled-down version of our own. The star at its center, an ultra-cool dwarf called TRAPPIST-1, is less than a tenth the size of our sun and about a quarter as warm. Its planets circle tightly around it; the closest takes just a day and a half to complete an orbit and the most distant takes about 20 days.

If these planets orbited a larger, brighter star they would be fried to a crisp. But TRAPPIST-1 is so cool that all seven of the bodies are bathed in just the right amount of warmth to hold liquid water. And three of them receive the same amount of heat as Venus, Earth and Mars, putting them in “the habitable zone,” that Goldilocks region where it’s thought life can thrive.

The researchers call these worlds “Earthlike,” though it’s a generous term. The planets of the TRAPPIST-1 system do resemble Earth in terms of size, mass and the energy they receive from their star, but there’s a lot that makes our planet livable besides being a warm rock. Further observation is required to determine the composition of the TRAPPIST-1 bodies, if they have atmospheres and if they hold water, methane, oxygen and carbon dioxide — the molecules that scientists consider “biosignatures,” or signs of life.

“You can bet people will be rushing to take those measurements,” said Elisabeth Adams, an exoplanet researcher at the Planetary Science Institute who was not involved in the study. “That’s going to be fascinating to see.”

Whatever secrets it may harbor, the TRAPPIST-1 system would surely be a sight to behold. Though the star is small, its nearness to the planets means that, from their perspective, it appears about three times as large as our sun. The outermost planets enjoy the daily spectacle of their neighbors passing across the sky and in front of their shared sun, each world a large dark spot silhouetted against the salmon-colored star. Its dim glow, which skews toward the red and infrared end of the light spectrum, bathes the planets in warmth and paints their skies with the crimson hues of a perpetual sunset.

Gillon and his colleagues have been interested in TRAPPIST-1 since late 2015. Using the European Southern Observatory’s Transiting Planets and Planetesimals Small Telescope (TRAPPIST) in Chile, they sensed small dips in the star’s brightness at regular intervals. These dips were caused by planets transiting — crossing between the star and Earth — and blocking some of its light. Last May, the scientists published their discovery in Nature: three rocky bodies, dubbed TRAPPIST-1b, -1c and -1d, orbited the small star, they said.

But right around the time the study was published, Gillon noticed that TRAPPIST-1d was behaving oddly. When he went to get a closer look with the Very Large Telescope, the ESO’s gigantic observatory in South America’s Atacama Desert, he realized that the dip in brightness he thought came from 1d was actually caused by three planets, all transiting at the same time.

This happens only once every three years, said Julien de Wit, a planetary scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a co-author on the study. “The chance of catching it is less than one in a thousand,” he explained. “It’s funny because it’s such a huge paper with amazing results, and we got it from sheer luck.”

Next the team hurried to request time at the Spitzer Space Telescope, whose Earth-trailing orbit around the sun offered an uninterrupted view of TRAPPIST-1 and its companions. During 20 days with the Spitzer telescope, the team witnessed 34 transits.

These observations “lifted the veil on the architecture of the system,” as de Wit put it. Instead of three planets, TRAPPIST-1 had seven, renamed TRAPPIST-1b through -h in order of their distance from the star.

The scientists determined that the six inner planets are locked in an orbital resonance, meaning that the lengths of their orbits are related by a ratio of whole numbers. Because of this, the bodies exert regular gravitational influences on one another. By measuring those influences, the astronomers could determine the mass of the planets, something that is impossible to figure out from transiting data alone. That in turn allowed them to loosely calculate their densities — giving a sense of how much iron, rock, water and gas the bodies contain.

The fact the planets are in orbital resonance also suggests that they formed farther out from their sun and then migrated inward, Gillon said. This makes it more likely that they will contain water in some form, since water and other volatile compounds (molecules that readily turn to gas) tend to concentrate on the outer edges of solar systems.

Coincidentally, TRAPPIST-1 is in the constellation Aquarius — the water-bearer.

For years, evidence has accumulated that the Milky Way galaxy is full of Earthlike planets. The discovery of seven such worlds around a single, faint star suggests that they may be even more common than originally thought.

Gillon and his colleagues plan to seek out similar solar systems with a new project, Search for Habitable Planets Eclipsing Ultracool Stars, or SPECULOOS. (Like Trappist beer, speculoos cookies are a Belgian delicacy. His next effort will have to be called WAFFLES.)

Meanwhile, scientists are scrambling to get a better look at Proxima b, a rocky world that was discovered orbiting our sun’s nearest neighbor, Proxima Centauri, last August.

But the TRAPPIST-1 researchers, along with several astronomers not involved with the study, say this system is our best target yet to search for extraterrestrial life. Though exoplanet scientists often focus on worlds orbiting sunlike stars, the brightness of those stars makes it difficult to spot small, rocky planets. TRAPPIST-1’s planets are easy to find amid its dim, cool glow.

The system is also incredibly close to Earth. Though 39 light-years would be a long way for humans to travel, it’s practically next door when you consider that the Milky Way galaxy alone is 100,000 light-years across. The closeness of TRAPPIST-1 puts it within the reach of the James Webb Space Telescope, which will be able to detect atmospheric components and thermal emissions from the planets after it launches in 2018.

In the meantime, telescopes on several continents have been trained on the system to search for signs of life. Last summer, the scientists published an early analysis of the atmospheres of planets b and c using data from the Hubble Space Telescope.

“This is direct exploration of another solar system that is happening right now,” Gillon said.

Planets e, f and g are the most intriguing targets for astrobiologists because of their position in TRAPPIST-1’s habitable zone. But even if they turn out to be warm and wet, these worlds might not be great places to live. The planets’ proximity to the star and one another means that they are probably tidally locked, like Earth’s moon. One side of each planet always faces the sun; the other is stuck in constant darkness. This would make for a dramatic temperature gradient that could generate powerful winds — not exactly an earthling’s idea of a cozy home.

And Adams, of the Planetary Science Institute, cautioned that it’s very hard to tell whether a planet is habitable from a distance. An observer outside our solar system might look at Venus, Earth and Mars and reason that the sun hosts three habitable worlds. The alien would need to travel here in person to discover that Venus is a cloudy hell-scape with a runaway greenhouse effect, while Mars is a barren, frozen desert with a defunct internal dynamo.

“There are a lot of ways in which a planet could be like Earth, but not enough,” Adams said.

Another major caveat, she added, is that the very idea of a “habitable world” is purely theoretical. Scientists have only one source of data on habitable planets, and that’s Earth. “We don’t actually know the parameters that are needed for life on another world,” Adams said, “how much it has to look exactly like Earth and how different life could be elsewhere.”

Still, even if no life is discovered on them, the TRAPPIST-1 planets present an unprecedented new window on how solar systems work. Though the planets are more or less Earth-size, their varying densities and distances allow for detailed comparisons of the worlds. It’s almost as if someone designed an experiment in planet formation, controlling for the bodies’ size.

De Wit compared the new planets to seven new languages, each offering a new vocabulary for describing its corner of the universe.

“They all have a slightly different perspective on the same story,” he said, “the story of this solar system.”

The Donald: Crazy or crazy like a fox?

Although from a scientific point of view that most doomsday scenario are mostly unlikely for the near future, there are worldwide signs all over the planet indicating that earth and mankind are now experiencing major changes: a major shift in civilizations is about to happen that started one hundred years ago.

Since the origins of man, many societies have been ruled by religious and spiritual beliefs and, all over the world, for years and years, the Apocalypse, the end of the word has been predicted. It doesn’t take a nuclear physicist or a spiritual leader to predict that one day, this earth is going to die.

All planets die one day and, when this will happen, if there are still men on earth, they will also die. This will be the end of the world, as we know it but certainly not the end of the universe. New planets are born every day and the universe is still expanding. But what about a possible global disaster that may happen in our days that could means the near extinction of man on earth?

History, science, studies and researches teach us that in the past, entire highly developed populations and civilizations suddenly disappeared from the surface of the planet on behalf of natural, biological disasters and human behaviors. Entire species disappeared from the surface of the planet in a very short time period, even in minutes and all of this, without any warning.

If this happen in the past, why can it not happen today?

Learning as a Form of Procrastination

knowledge

“Knowledge, unless you apply it, does not, and will never make you more efficient, influential, powerful or successful.”

Today, thanks to the instant access to the internet, everyone can now study and learn from home. The tremendous quantity of information available online provide anyone with the best ever opportunity to broaden his knowledge in every sphere of activity one can imagine.

For who is starting a new project or new business, the magnitude and quality of information available online literally invites the new entrepreneur, before anything else, to gather as much intelligence as possible related to his undertaking. Ultimately, delaying all productive action, the new entrepreneur is ending up trying to be everywhere, reading and trying to do everything that is suggested or recommended by the so-called pundits.

Reading everything you can get your hands on, listening to every single podcast you can download, taking every online course you can afford, learning how to write the best possible resume; how to land the job of your dreams; how to launch a successful business or new product; how to create the greatest blog and website; how to write and publish a new book is not going to help you whatsoever. Ultimately, doing everything except taking action, you do not start or achieve anything. All those activities do not and will never take you anywhere close to whatever you wish to accomplish.

The key to power, greater achievement and success is not excessive expertise, but the ability to use it. Knowledge is absolutely worthless unless it is applied. The truth is that no matter how extensive your knowledge, there will always be obstacles and unexpected circumstances that you will have to face. There will always be issues that never have been described or covered in any book. And, one day or another, you will be ending up having to deal with situations no one ever has met before. These are the days where you will have to show some initiative and creativity, having to look for solutions and make decisions that no one probably has ever thought of.

While constantly looking for new sources of information and content, nothing is being done. Thanks to the Internet, learning has now become a major social trend and major form of procrastination. Constant researching, learning, planning, thinking, rethinking and visualization will not accomplish anything other than letting you spinning in your tracks and leaving you stranded in the place you are now. You will never start, even less accomplish or finish, anything. Only actions will drive you where you wish or want to be.

My point is that for anyone that have read even only these three books: “The Bible”, “The Prince” and “How to Win Friends and Influence People”, there is no need for further learning. You already have and know everything you need to know to live the life of your dreams and achieve power and success. There is nothing more you need to learn in order to take the first step. Stop reading everything that has been written, stop listening to everyone that has something to say.

Everything has been written, everything has been said centuries ago. There is nothing new under the sun. Read “The Bible”, read “The Prince”, read Machiavelli, read “How to Win Friends and Influence People”, read Carnegie, maybe Zig Ziegler and stop right there. Start writing your own book, the book of your own life. Take action now, turn your unstoppable procrastination into unstoppable action and start learning from your own experience.
